A tool is designed to assist USAID Missions and national TB programs (NTPs) with mapping the readiness and capacity of the current TB monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and surveillance system to generate, report, analyze, and use the data generated to improve the TB situation in their country.

A toolkit for measuring countries’ progress towards improving their TB monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and surveillance systems and providing information to guide their continued efforts.
M&E and Surveillance Systems Assessment (MESSA)
Assessment tool for documenting the status of the TB M&E and surveillance systems in each of the USAID TB priority countries.
Performance-based Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (PBMEF)
A framework developed by TB DIAH to help USAID/Washington staff, Mission health officers who work on tuberculosis (TB), and TB advisors track progress against TB in a country and manage USAID’s TB investments in one place. It is a standardized monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework with 10 high level core indicators to demonstrate program effectiveness and desirable outcomes in USAID’s 23 TB-priority countries under the TB Accelerator.
Quality of TB Services Assessments (QTSA)
A toolkit for identifying where TB services in a country are of high quality, where there are gaps, and identifying strategies for ensuring that TB patients are receiving the care that they deserve.
TB Surveillance Strengthening Plan (STEP)
A systematic process for developing a comprehensive landscape of the TB M&E and surveillance system in a country and a costed action plan for improvement.
